Hinterland Air was contracted by Australand Property Group to provide the air conditioning and mechanical ventilation for Atria Residential Apartments at Hamilton Reach in Brisbane.

The project consisted of 20 townhouses and 139 apartments across two, five-story residential towers. Each residence required concealed ducted air conditioning to the living areas and bedrooms, as well as mechanical ventilation for all bathrooms and laundries.

Hinterland Air completed mechanical ventilation design for the two-stories underground carpark, to meet Australian standards of underground car park air quality. Air conditioners were also installed in the basement refuse room and gymnasium.

Project Specification

Concealed ducted air conditioning

These systems service each room individually and comprise of single stage reverse cycle condensing units, linked to a single or double ducted fan coil. The systems come with Daikin wall mounted touchpad and temperature sensing. All ducted units are installed with panel filters accessible in the return air plenums. Zone controllers located in the ductwork allow for the flow of air to be switched on and off in a zone.

Amenities ventilation

The amenities are ventilated by Derby Ventilator fans and are connected to a flexible duct and linked to outside air to roof cowls for exhausting air to outside.

Basement carpark ventilation

One side of the basement car park has ventilation louvres open to outside air. On the other side, Hinterland placed two fans set to CO sensors to extract air mechanically.
